Toprani Undergraduate Research Award

The Toprani Undergraduate Research Award supports international undergraduate or co-terminal students for summer semester research projects. The student must be nominated by an Illinois Tech faculty member. Preference will be given to students whose home country is India. The award will provide funding to one or more undergraduate student(s) in the amount of $5,500 for the summer. 

Subodh K. Toprani (BS ’77, MS’82) and Shraddha Toprani have provided a generous donation to Illinois Tech. The purpose of the Toprani Undergraduate Research Award is to provide financial assistance to international undergraduate students for summer semester research projects. 

Student Eligibility

Illinois Tech international undergraduate students or co-terminal students. The student must be nominated by an Illinois Tech faculty member. Preference will be given to students whose home country is India.

Application Packet Requirements

  • Students may complete the student application form here.
  • An Illinois Tech faculty member will submit a recommendation that will describe the student's potential for conducting research, the project that the student plans to undertake, and the need for funding. Submit here.

The Deadline for submissions is March 21st each year. If the deadline should occur on a weekend or a national holiday, submissions will be due the following business day.
