Physics Alumna Wins PAST Doctoral Award from the IEEE

Martina Martinello (PHYS Ph.D. ’16) won the 2018 Particle Accelerator Science and Technology (PAST) Doctoral Student Award for her work on superconducting radiofrequency cavities. She was recognized for her doctoral thesis, which focuses on research she performed at Fermilab.

Collaboration to Create One of the First Microgrid Clusters in the World

ComEd has partnered with Illinois Tech on two United States Department of Energy grants to develop and test microgrid technology on Illinois Tech’s Mies Campus and in the surrounding Bronzeville neighborhood. The university has led the way in successful microgrid development.
