Tonight, September 9, at 6 p.m., Gary R. Hilderbrand will present the annual Peter Schaudt Lecture "Living Surface" in S. R. Crown Hall's lower center core on Mies Campus. The lecture is a part of Illinois Institute of Technology’s Urban Future initiative, which aims to promote research contributing to the development of smarter and more sustainable cities.
Hilderbrand is a founding principal and partner of Reed-Hilderbrand, a landscape architecture firm responsible for projects from Duke University’s Crown Commons to Central Wharf Plaza in downtown Boston. He is the Peter Louis Hornbeck Professor in Practice at the Harvard Graduate School of Design, where he has taught since 1990. In 2017 Hilderbrand was awarded the American Society of Landscape Architects Design Medal in recognition of his exceptional design work and was also named one of the Most Admired Educators of 2017 by DesignIntelligence.
