What began as Alex Damarjian’s thesis project has now evolved into a testing system called PDI Check, which allows pediatric ophthalmologists to test for visual acuity, stereo vision or depth perception, and color blindness in their young patients. Damarjian, a technology and humanities Ph.D. candidate, connected with an eye doctor in Alaska to further develop the “revolutionary,” low-cost tool.
